REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Enrolled in post-secondary education
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Interest in the real estate development field is highly preferred, but not necessary
  • Strong attention to detail as well as organizational skills
  • Time management skills and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Team oriented, motivated, and collaborative
  • Demonstrates a proactive and flexible attitude and a “how can I help?” approach

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Corporate Accounting Intern will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day accounting requirements including processing invoices and expenses, preparing detailed accounting schedules and accounting records along with other administrative tasks to contribute to the finance and accounting department.

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes including prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monthly invoices
  • Prepare journal entries and assist with the financial close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting
  • Assist with research and preparing financial reports, budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare monthly GST returns
  • Process corporate and project vendor invoices and employee expenses
  • Participate in process/systems improvements and efficiencies.
  • Other ad hoc duties as required
