JOB SUMMARY:

The Corporate AP Specialist provides direct support in all areas of accounts payable, as directed by the AP Manager. The AP Specialist will complete a range of tasks, including processing invoices and payments, posting business transactions, reconciling accounts, billings to DWX partners, cash receipts/disbursements, and verifying financial data to maintain accurate accounts payable records in our Finance and Accounting department. The role is responsible for diligently reviewing information with keen attention to detail and communicating summaries, issues, and opportunities for improvement promptly and clearly to ensure the accuracy of the organization’s financial and operational reporting. The AP Specialist will adhere to and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements for DWX and its innovation hubs.
This is a non-exempt, non-supervisory, full-time position located in the Niceville, Florida headquarters office and eligible for company benefits. The DWX corporate team currently works in a hybrid work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree from a regionally accredited university in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field or a commensurate combination of education, training, and experience
  • Three years of general accounting experience preferred.

OTHER KEY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to successfully obtain and maintain a security clearance or successfully obtain and maintain ITAR license
  • Must not have any conflicts of interest affecting DWX or its partners
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and great work ethic
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and drive results through collaboration

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Ensure proper processing of day-to-day business transactions by ethically and accurately entering data and information.
  • Facilitate payment to vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing purchase orders, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Receive and verify expense reports; reconcile expenses and other financial reports with account balances.
  • Assists with accounting records and ledgers by reconciling monthly statements and transactions.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal company stakeholders and hubs.
  • Deliver routine and as-needed briefings and reports.
  • Report issues or concerns objectively and immediately to the AP Manager.
  • Handle trade secrets, company proprietary information, and business-sensitive information with care and discretion.
