Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Provide legal advice to various business units in countries across Latin America, excluding Brazil and Mexico.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, partnership arrangements, and other legal documents (for private and public customers), ensuring they align with the company’s legal standards and objectives.
- Monitor changes in laws and regulations in different jurisdictions and proactively advise the company on potential impacts and necessary actions.
- Manage and supervise litigation and dispute resolution processes, working closely with external counsel when vital.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Compliance, HR, Finance, and Operations, to ensure legal compliance and support business initiatives.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to provide accurate and timely advice on a wide range of legal issues.
- Develop and implement legal strategies, policies, and procedures to support the company’s goals and objectives.
- Develop and deliver legal training programs to improve legal awareness and compliance across the organization.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to the bar and authorized to practice law in relevant jurisdictions.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience in legal roles, preferably within multinational companies.
- In-depth knowledge of international laws (public and private), regulations, and best practices relevant to the company’s industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of providing strategic legal advice and managing legal risks in a multinational environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across different functions and cultures, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make sound decisions.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct.
Proficiency in English (written and verbal) is required.
Additional language skills are a plus
