CORPORATE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESENTATIVE – CALGARY, AB

AGAT Laboratories’ Calgary Environmental division is on the lookout for a dynamic Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. As a BDR, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting our clients on diverse environmental monitoring, remediation, and reclamation projects nationwide.
We are seeking an individual that enjoys working with people to develop solutions to their business needs and create professional and long lasting working relationships through account management and growth.
JOB SUMMARY:
In this dynamic role, the successful candidate will be assigned a target client list with both existing and new client opportunities. The BDR will be responsible for maintaining and growing our business relationships with our diverse client groups.
Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development, you will play an integral role in providing “Service Beyond Analysis”. Business Development Representatives are expected to increase incremental sales to new and existing customers while increasing our overall brand impression and quality reputation. The Business Development Representative is a mid-to-senior level role. It is the responsibility of the Business Development Representative to promote AGAT Laboratories’ entire portfolio of services.
Qualifications:
- BSc degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology or equivalent experience
- Minimum (2) two years of experience in a sales and/or customer service front facing position
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record, willing to travel
- Knowledge of lab testing would be an asset
- Professional, positive and outgoing demeanor
- Excellent relationship building skills
- Public speaking skills
- Strong analytical, planning, negotiation, and problem solving skills
- Excellent written, verbal, communication skills
- Proficient with standard office computer tech; Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environmen
Responsibilities:
- Solicit new business opportunities for AGAT Laboratories and identify sales opportunities to improve AGAT Laboratories’ position
- Maintain strong relationships with our current customer listing
- Implement account and/or category specific sales and marketing initiatives
- Develop and execute annual business and territory plans for assigned territories; achieve annual budget for sales
- Develop a “face to face” customer call cycle; exceed customer expectations
- Attend educational workshops; be involved with professional associations and attend tradeshows
- Monitor competitive market activity
- Perform administrative duties where necessary

Work Environment: This position requires a person to walk, stand and lift throughout the shift in an office environment. Manual dexterity is required to perform repetitive tasks. Extensive local (city limits) travel with some infrequent traveling outside the local area and some travel outside the province, within Canada. Will be requested to work overtime, weekends and for special program events where needed.
