Description:
Overview:
The Corporate Catering Sales Manager drives revenue to achieve Casino’s topline goals by proactively soliciting the local corporate market; sourcing new accounts, identifying new targets, and re-soliciting past business leads. As the Corporate Catering Sales Manager, you will be responsible for driving event sales by building relationships with clients and leveraging the Casino’s unique features. You will work in a fast-paced sales environment, generating new leads and developing strategic plans to maximize revenue. This person must create an exceptional climate of professional and personable service that ensures the long-term engagement of employees, clients, and owners. Providing sales leadership to generate revenue and gain market share.
Responsibilities:
- It is expected that you spend 50% to 60% of your time, while in the office, focused on driving business from your Top accounts and identifying new accounts.
- Research, solicit, and generate new sales opportunities through proactive sales efforts, including database research and networking, etc. while maximizing banquet space to meet/exceed catering revenue goals
- Re-solicits non-contracted opportunities, including turndowns, lost opportunities, and actualized business when appropriate.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to meet or exceed revenue goals.
- Drives customer satisfaction through daily interactions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, representing Hard Rock in sales interactions, including proposals, site inspections, and contract negotiations.
- Conducts customer facing sales activities on behalf of Hard Rock Cincinnati. (e.g., In Office Sales Presentations, local industry events, Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) Activities, etc.).
- Coordinate and participate in blitzes, expositions, fairs, familiarization trips, site inspections, and other relevant activities.
- Maintains complete and up-to-date lead information on each account in Delphi to verify accurate reporting and customer base information.
- Utilizes negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to uncover new business.
- Understands the overall market (e.g., competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand etc.) to sell effectively against the competition.
- Prepare sales proposals for, meet with, and entertain clients as deemed appropriate based on individual clients and accounts
- Follows up with clients after each function to ensure satisfaction and solicit additional business
- Participate in weekly sales meetings, reviewing business strategies and lost opportunities.
- Adheres to all work rules, SOP’s, and policies established by the Casino, including but not limited to those contained in the Employee handbook.
- Must have own reliable transportation and possess a valid state driver’s license to make sales calls when necessary
- Flexibility required for site visits outside of regular business hours, pre/post-con meetings, Chamber, or other related events that may take place during nights/weekends
- Operate ethically to protect the Hard Rock brand. Ensure brand and business initiatives are implemented.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest, employee, and company information.
Qualifications:
EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND CERTIFICATIONS
- 3+ years’ experience in hospitality management, in a sales role.
- Previous experience in proactive lead generation in hospitality and sales discipline; knowledge of the hospitality industry.
- Must have established Corporate Relationships within the Cincinnati Area.

- Ability to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneously should pose a challenge without being overwhelming.

- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and employees of the organization.
- Strong command of software applications, especially Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and hotel-specific platforms (Delphi FDC, Delphi Diagrams, Sertifi, Agilysys, etc.).
- Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers and staff, some of whom will require elevated levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.
- Fluency in English: additional languages preferred.
