Corporate Compliance Specialist (m/f/d)
GLS is one of the major players in the international parcel delivery market. Due to the e-commerce revolution, this market is growing and innovating rapidly.
To further strengthen our Corporate Compliance function, we are looking for a Corporate Compliance Specialist to support our Corporate Compliance Team. In this role, you will report directly to the Lead of Corporate Compliance and play a key role in the international Corporate Compliance & Directives team, developing the Group-wide Compliance Framework, guiding and supporting local Compliance Managers in 21 countries worldwide.
Your office will be located in Eschborn, near Frankfurt/Main, Germany (remote working in Germany negotiable).
Your assignments:
In this role, you will provide legal advice and take reasonable steps to implement and ensure preventive compliance management activities across key compliance areas, such as:
- Anti-corruption / anti-bribery regulations
- Competition law and antitrust
- Sanctions control and anti-money laundering
- Interactions with human rights and modern slavery
- Supply chain and business partner due diligence
- Anti-fraud and white-collar crime, as well as areas of conflicts of interest
- Whistleblowing / report investigations and case management
Your tasks will include:
- Further development of the Corporate Compliance Framework, drafting and reviewing of compliance policies and standard operating procedures.
- Offering advice to international country compliance managers with a focus on anti-corruption, third-party due diligence, and managing compliance risks.
- Developing and maintaining of global compliance clauses, as well as drafting, reviewing and negotiating of compliance aspects of contracts.
- Monitoring legal compliance trends and ensuring effective support for new initiatives, including the development and rollout of training, policy development, and communication campaigns.
- Developing projects and processes to strengthen the Compliance Management System (CMS) in the international GLS organization and guide the country compliance management functions in their implementation.
- Providing indirect leadership and expert support for local Compliance Managers in 21 countries, including organizing half-year calls and yearly in-person meetings.
- Monitoring of activities and transactions using IT tools to ensure and oversee the implementation of compliance tasks and adherence to required internal regulations.
Your profile:
- A legal degree, qualification as a lawyer in an EU jurisdiction, or a comparable degree.
- 1 year or more of experience (high-quality internship is also accepted) in a law firm or an international corporation.
- Passion for compliance with a proactive, results-driven approach, a hands-on mentality, and the ability to present legal and technical issues in a practical manner.
- High degree of integrity, accuracy, and a structured, analytical mindset.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in interdisciplinary and global teams.
- Solid understanding of technical and economic relationships, with affinity for IT topics.
- Fluency in English and German.
