Description:

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a skilled Corporate Construction Project Manager for a direct hire role with an organization based out of Beaverton, OR. This person in this role will support commercial tenant improvement projects throughout the Portland Metro and Southwest, WA area.
Pay: $85,000-$125,000/year base

Corporate Construction Project Manager Responsibilities:

  • Establish a thorough understanding of each project’s scope and approach, in addition to interpreting construction documents and technical manuals, to ensure projects are built per project schedule, budget, plans, and specifications.
  • Be point person for all required documentation efforts, including providing construction schedule, lead time tracking, etc.
  • Represent the organization as needed with municipal agents, vendors, subcontractors, tenants (clients), etc. – establishing positive, long-term working relationships is critical.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements, draft contracts, and obtain required permits and licenses.
  • Process contracts, cost estimates, and change orders.
  • Develop, track, and manage budgets and work timetables, adjusting daily or weekly (as needed) to keep stakeholders updated.
  • Ensure all changes to specifications, work scope, and drawings are documented.
  • Develop project strategies, handle unexpected issues and delays, and create effective solutions to problems when necessary, working with the property management team to communicate changes expediently.
  • Communicate, enforce, and review safety protocols regularly.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and inspectors.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and warranty items.
  • Be dependable, work diligently, and have a positive attitude.

Corporate Construction Project Manager Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years (at minimum 3 years) of proven working experience in the commercial construction industry as a field engineer, project engineer, or project manager; specific tenant improvement experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Communicates effectively and to uses tact when dealing with both subcontractors and clients.
  • Thoroughly understands construction methods and technologies, including interpreting contracts, technical drawings, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project scheduling, specifically critical path activities.
  • Comfortable working in high-stress situations balancing multiple priorities and deadlines to move projects forward.
  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, and Smartsheet, or similar construction management software a plus.
  • Navigate challenging worksites including in inclement weather and/or with uneven/unstable ground.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction engineering management, mechanical engineering architecture, or equivalent industry-specific experience a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Must possess a current driver’s license and a safe driving record; must be able to be insured to drive company vehicles.
