THE COMPANY
B2Gold is a low-cost international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland. B2Gold forecasts total consolidated gold production of between 860,000 and 940,000 ounces in 2024.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Engineering, or similar from an accredited university or college;
- Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar role with at least five years of experience in mining industry;
- Previous experience with projects that are in operations and under constructions;
- Solid understanding in legal and contractual aspects of contracts and risk management;
- Knowledge of major purchasing categories within mining industry;
- Strong project management and purchasing management skills;
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated experience in report writing and public presentations;
- Able to work collaboratively in a team environment but also available to work independently with minimum supervision;
- Available to think strategically with a big-picture mindset;
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Excel, Word, SharePoint, and PowerPoint;
- SAP ERP knowledge and experience a plus;
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with challenging jurisdictions considered a strong asset.
JOB DEMANDS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is based out of our Vancouver head office with occasional domestic and international travels required which may be in short notice (approximately 10% of the time annually)
Responsibilities:
- Draft policies and procedures on tendering, contract management, and supply agreements;
- Conduct global tenders and assist in purchasing for existing mining operations and new projects;
- Develop contracts by liaising with end users, corporate legal, and Director, Supply Chain;
- Review, analyze, and approve contractual documents to award short or long-term supply and service contracts;
- Analyze contract requirements, special provisions, terms, and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies, and business unit procedures;
- Stay up to date on changes in regulations that may impact contractual agreements and coordinate with legal department as needed;
- Prepare, organize, and maintain contract records and files, documenting contract performance and compliance; maintain global contracts register;
- Develop reporting tools and templates to measure performance of contracted parties against agreed to supply and/or service commitments;
- Assist in the identification of opportunities and driving initiatives to improve supply chain processes, developing project plans, and identifying key deliverables;
- Ensure all safety standards are strictly adhered to; and
- Perform other duties as required in support of Company objectives.
