Corporate Counsel, Compliance

About our Team
In this role, you will work with the company’s compliance and litigation attorneys on compliance investigations, participate in compliance training development and delivery, assess and develop compliance policies, and manage aspects of an anti-bribery due diligence program. You will also be asked to support one of the company’s sales segments with customer negotiations and transactions, which may dovetail with compliance insights and tasks.
About the Role
As Corporate Counsel, you will proactively identify legal risks and implications of our business transactions. You will inform our General Counsel of major risks, any material litigation, and developments in laws. Your skills and expertise will be crucial in leading our UK team, drawing on and escalating matters to our experts.
Responsibilities
- Providing advice, interpretation, development, roll out and implementation of compliance policies
- Conducting and supporting compliance investigations, including interviews, report preparation, and resulting action items
- Providing support to our Sales group for transactional matters, including legal advice, contract negotiation and drafting of contracts.
- Participating in the development of tools/information to help internal clients be more efficient and independent in using contract templates
- Providing best in practice professional legal services to the organization to ensure delivery of impactful results.
- Conducting and supporting compliance investigations, including interviews, report preparation and resulting action items
Requirements
- 5-7 years PQE experience in compliance and/or litigation matters
- Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Prior transactional contracting experience a plus
- Be able to effectively and efficiently prioritize and execute tasks and demonstrate flexibility in a complex and constantly changing environment
- Show a high understanding of integrity and authenticity
- Be a collaborative team player with a willingness to deliver successful solutions to interesting problems
