Job Description:
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal leadership and support to Allison’s Global Purchasing and Supplier Quality functions.
- Advise Purchasing organization throughout all phases of negotiations with Allison’s suppliers.
- As needed, support Allison’s supplier compliance activities on a variety of matters, including cybersecurity, conflicts of interest, ethics, domestic preference regulations, country-of-origin compliance, export control, and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
- In collaboration with the Corporate Counsel – Intellectual Property, review and advise on intellectual property matters affecting product development, contract negotiation, and other business issues.
- Participate in reviewing, interpreting, and drafting various company policies and procedures, including responsibility for developing new or enhancing existing contract templates, guidelines, policies, and training materials in support of the Legal team’s efforts to proactively support all aspects of the company’s business objectives.
- Assist with analysis and advice regarding pre-litigation matters falling within the scope of the role.
- Assist in the preparation of various legal training courses for the Purchasing and Supplier Quality functions.
- Ensure appropriate internal reporting within the Legal team, and respective business partners, exercising good judgment on what is material to the audience.
- Supports the business with a variety of commercial transactions as needed, including M&A efforts and integration.
- Manage external legal support as required.
- Adapt easily to new circumstances.
