Description:
We’re looking for a Corporate Counsel to join our team in Schiphol- Rijk, Netherlands.
Liberty Global’s Legal & Corporate Affairs Department has lawyers and business personnel located in the U.S. and Europe. We’re looking for a Dutch qualified corporate lawyer to join Liberty Global’s dynamic Legal team in Amsterdam/Schiphol-Rijk.
The Corporate Counsel will work closely with colleagues based in Amsterdam, London and Denver.
The successful candidate will support on a wide range of legal advice on subject matters such corporate governance, compliance, intercompany (transfer pricing and services) agreements, board meetings, incorporations, mergers and liquidations of Dutch legal entities and working on (new) projects or business opportunities and services in multidisciplinary teams with stakeholders from the M&A, Tax and Treasury teams.
Key Accountabilities
- Function as an in-house corporate lawyer with a Dutch corporate law focus.
- You proactively support, advise and guide colleagues from various departments and business units in a wide variety of strategic, non-strategic and innovative transactions, investment initiatives and internal (re)structuring and integration processes such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, start-ups, investments and intercompany agreements.
- Assist in corporate secretarial services for complex organizational structure, including corporate reorganizations and share transfers as well as support in corporate governance matters, board meetings and compliance matters.
- You will work collaboratively in large, multi-jurisdictional teams involving experts in the wider Liberty Global Legal team (based across London, Amsterdam and Denver) and other Liberty Global functions including, Treasury, M&A, Tax, Accounting/Finance, Reporting, and operational business teams
- Building and maintaining relationships with external legal counsel and other counsels in the Liberty Global Group of companies etc.
- You contribute to (internal) legal risk analyses, follow relevant legal developments in the field of corporate law and proactively and accurately translate these into practical advice for Liberty Global.
Essential Skills and Abilities
- Relevant professional qualifications in law and a between three to five years of experience at a Dutch law and/or civil notary firm, additional in house working experience is an advantage.
- Experience with general corporate law matters and governance essential.
- Experience with compliance matters.
- Ability to work collaboratively and autonomously and thrive in ambiguous environments.

- Ability to articulate clearly and concisely.
- Emotional intelligence.

Desirable Skills and Abilities
- Masters Law degree from an accredited school of law in the Netherlands and strong academic credentials.
