The Corporate Counsel - Regulatory & Data Privacy will provide legal guidance in collaboration with members of the Legal Department to the business teams on matters of regulation and data privacy. They will also assist in the development and execution of department and business strategies related to these areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide actionable, risk-based advice on global product and data privacy regulation
  • Develop and implement policies and processes to champion best practices and product and data privacy regulatory compliance
  • Direct and oversee outside counsel in matters of product regulation and data privacy
  • Partner with other members of the Legal Department, and business and functional team, to provide strategic, business-oriented legal guidance to aid the successful execution of initiatives
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
  • 3 years of experience in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Licensed to practice law in the United States, a member in good standing with a State bar, and able to become a member of the Wisconsin state bar

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High personal integrity and ethical stature
  • Experience with U.S. and international privacy laws and regulations
  • Working knowledge or experience with federal, state, and/or international product regulations (e.g., PFAS reporting, CA Proposition 65) as well as product safety standards
  • Confidence and ability to credibly interact and communicate effectively at all levels within the organization
  • Comfortable in a dynamic work environment and managing multiple, fast-paced projects with the appropriate attention to detail
  • Demonstrates strong initiative, high motivation, and desire to learn
  • Experience representing or counseling manufacturing client(s)
  • Able to travel as needed

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel.
