You’ll join the Technology and Information Legal Team, which is an enterprise team that sits within our larger national legal team.
As a Corporate Counsel you’ll contribute to lasting and positive changes that shape the future of our cities and communities. It’s meaningful, challenging, innovative and exciting work.

Day to day you will:

  • Build strong and effective working relationships with people at all levels across the Group, especially in the Customer team, and represent Transurban in meetings or communications with external stakeholders
  • Provide high quality legal advice to those parts of the Group within your area of responsibility
  • Ensure that legal obligations are met, and legal risks managed, while seeking maximum alignment with the Group’s business objectives and protection of its interests and reputation

This role will suit someone with a curious mind and transferrable skills and experiences, including:

  • A law degree and qualification as a lawyer in Australia or comparable jurisdiction
  • 3 to 6 years post qualification experience within a top tier law firm or relevant experience within the corporate sector
  • The ability to interpret legal requirements and apply them clearly and effectively to relevant business operations
  • The ability to take a proactive approach to managing legal risk, e.g. anticipate issues, propose solutions early and participate in regular business team meetings
  • You take an innovative approach to systems, resources and suppliers
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with individuals at all levels both within the organisation and externally
  • A team player – you actively contribute and work well in a close-knit team environment

If you meet some of these requirements, but not all, we still encourage you to submit your application.
We offer a range of flexible working and leave options, so you can balance your work and life commitments and interests. Have a conversation with us about how this could work for you.
We embrace diversity with a foundation of safety, wellbeing and inclusion; where everyone belongs. We treat everyone with fairness, consideration and respect, regardless of gender, gender identity, marital or family status, sexual orientation, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs, cultural or socio-economic background, perspective, and experience – whether they work for us or not. We want to ensure everyone feels comfortable and safe to express ideas, questions and concerns.
