The Corporate Development team is responsible for generating, managing and executing mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships, and supporting the execution of corporate growth initiatives. As part of this small team responsible for originating, executing, and supporting acquisitions, you’ll work to elevate Blue Origin’s worldwide deal-making profile.
You will work closely with our business units to identify inorganic growth opportunities. You will support the senior leadership team by conducting industry research, investment analysis, due diligence, acquisition term sheets and contract negotiations, and both internal and external relationship building. In this role, you will be an entrepreneurial thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments, demonstrating a strong bias for action.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with executive leadership to evaluate and drive internal thinking on organic and inorganic growth opportunities
  • Identify appropriate opportunities which support Blue Origin’s strategic priorities through interaction with senior business leaders, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, investment bankers, and organic pipeline generation
  • Act as a subject matter expert on financial analysis, deal structuring, and valuation
  • Lead financial analysis, synergy forecasting, valuation and due diligence of potential acquisitions
  • Lead cross-functional due diligence teams, including legal, finance & accounting, tax, human resources, operations, IT, sales, and strategy
  • Lead deal flow process from term sheet signature to integration
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks in potential transactions
  • Perform research, reporting and analysis on M&A activity in the industry
  • Present investment thesis memos and recommendations for all stages of the deal process (sourcing to integration planning)
  • Build and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight performance measurements

In addition, the Director of Corporate Development will be an independent thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments. Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of demonstrated ability in investment banking, corporate development, private equity, venture capital, finance, or consulting
  • Experience creating and analyzing M&A processes for a wide variety of transactions, including public-public, public-private, and cross-border transactions
  • Highly organized and capable of planning and guiding complex technical work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication and presentation skills
  • Aptitude for teamwork with demonstrated potential for leadership
  • Proven ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:

  • MBA from a top-tier business school

Compensation Range for:
WA applicants is $164,682.00-$230,554.80
