Responsibilities:
Risk Advisory’s Business Intelligence & Investigations team is looking to add an experienced Portuguese-speaking investigator with expertise in Lusophone Africa. We are seeking to employ a corporate investigator who is ready to work in an international, fast-paced and research-intensive environment with demanding clients. This role is designed for ambitious candidates who have at least a few years of experience in corporate investigations, litigation support and due diligence, with a solid understanding of the common regulatory and reputational risks in Lusophone Africa.
We are looking for candidates who have experience managing complex cases in the region, with expertise in sophisticated public record and social media research as well as in conducting investigative interviews and drawing on human intelligence sources. An in-depth knowledge of regional politics and economics is important for this position. Candidates who have also spent considerable time in one or more countries in the region – by birth or by personal, academic or professional background - will be preferred.
Producing high-quality analysis is an essential component of this position. As such candidates must possess outstanding research and writing skills, and will be tested on both during the application process. In addition to fluent spoken and written English, candidates who are fluent in Portuguese will have a significant advantage.
Strong interpersonal and managerial skills are also a requirement for this role. The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic team and may, depending on experience, be expected to oversee the research of other members of the team. The successful candidate will also liaise directly with our clients on a regular basis, managing projects with them in their entirety.
We offer challenging and interesting work as part of an international team, with a competitive salary, generous vacation time, hybrid working, and a package of other benefits.
If you are interested in becoming part of our team and if you are convinced that you meet our criteria, please present your application by Sunday, December 1. We will only accept candidates who have the right to work in the UK – please state in your application that this is the case.
Candidates we would like to meet will be invited for an introductory conversation. Successful candidates will then be invited to take a writing test, with additional interviews to follow shortly thereafter.
