JOB SUMMARY

As an Entry Level Startup and Technology Lawyer at SINC Partners, you will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support to our startups. You will work closely with our founders, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders to navigate the legal complexities of building and scaling technology-driven businesses.

  • Minimum Qualification : Degree
  • Experience Level : Mid level
  • Experience Length : 1 year

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) and a valid legal practicing license in Nigeria.
  • 1 year of legal experience, preferably in a technology or startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of corporate law, intellectual property, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and drafting skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working with technology startups or in the technology sector.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws and regulations.
  • Familiarity with venture capital and startup financing.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset.

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of matters, including corporate governance, intellectual property, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including partnership agreements, NDAs, licensing agreements, and service contracts.
  • Assist in the formation and structuring of new startups, including incorporation, shareholder agreements, and equity distribution.
  • Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the technology and startup industry.
  • Help manage intellectual property portfolios, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.
  • Support fundraising activities, including the preparation of investment documents and due diligence processes.
  • Advise on data privacy and protection compliance, particularly with regards to local and international regulations.
  • Collaborate with external legal counsel and other professional advisors as needed.
  • Educate and train startup teams on legal best practices and risk management.
