Responsibilities:
- compliance with the Franchising Code of Conduct and changes in the franchising landscape
- advising and supporting stakeholders across the retail and the post office networks with respect of a variety of matters such as promoting workplace compliance, dispute resolution etc.
- drafting various legal notices, including show cause letters, breach notices related to the post office network
- assisting with various strategic projects in the retail space in line with the enterprise’s modernisation and Post26 strategy
- identifying legal issues in existing business operations and in new business initiatives
- delivering smart, commercial advice / drafting and negotiating contracts that achieve business objectives and allocate risk in accordance with stated risk appetite
- supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of legal documentation and toolkits
- supporting the development, implementation and maintenance of training, policies, procedures and compliance programs to promote business understanding of legal rights and obligations and a culture of compliance
- managing disputes, litigation and regulatory actions commercially, efficiently and effectively, and in the long term legal and commercial interests of the business
- keeping across legal and regulatory developments and anticipating emerging trends
- optimising the value and quality of legal services from external legal resources
- engaging with relevant regulators, including the ACC
