Description:

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION

SIFF’s Corporate Relations Officer is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy to identify and secure corporate donors for annual and multi-year support for year-round cinema programming, annual SIFF Festival programs, education programming and SIFF’s annual Marquee Gala. This involves developing strategies for creating engagement; soliciting and securing funding; and ensuring exceptional stewardship through management of a diverse portfolio of donors and prospects. This position works closely with the Director of Development, Board of Directors, the Executive Director, and collaboratively across departments to nurture and grow relationships, and to ensure benefit fulfillment. Strong self-motivation, organization, independence, strategic thinking, collaboration, and attention to detail are vital for success in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum

  • Three to five years of progressive experience and responsibility developing and executing strategies to significantly increase contributed cash revenue and in-kind support through Corporate sponsorships
  • BA degree in business administration, marketing, sales or equivalent education & experience
  • Working knowledge and understanding of the corporate sector, particularly organizations/companies that historically support arts and cultural organizations
  • Commitment to racial equity, social justice, diversity, and inclusion
  • Appreciation for and understanding of SIFF’s mission and programming
  • The ability to embody the community-oriented spirit to both internal and external constituents
  • Strong, initiative, work ethic, professional manner, and ability to work independently

Desired

  • Five to seven years with increased responsibility and experience managing corporate and foundation portfolios, and executing corporate giving strategies and pipelines
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to efficiently create funding narratives in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present to high-level executives
  • Strong project management and research skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional attention to detail for tracking and fulfilling partnership commitments
  • Experience with CRM software and data management tools, willingness to learn new technology; experience with Salesforce preferred
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on building and maintaining long-term relationships, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated aptitude to think strategically, identify opportunities, and thrive in a complex and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities
  • Excellent self-awareness and ability to provide and receive feedback to enable individual and team development

  • This position schedule is Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is expected to be available for after-hours events such as development events, Board meetings, Committee meetings, during Festival and other times when the need arises

  • This position is expected to travel throughout the SIFF service area to meet with donors, sponsors, grantors and members and occasionally travel in or out of state for conferences or industry meetings

Office work is regularly performed in an open office environment.

Direct Fundraising and Relationship Management (60%)

  • Create and execute a corporate giving program that facilitates existing and new opportunities and partnerships in support of SIFF’s strategic plan and SIFF’s vision, mission, and goals
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 75-100 corporate prospects and funders, shaping and executing engagement strategies, including identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding relationships with corporations and businesses, and serve as a primary contact for companies seeking to build a relationship with SIFF
  • Collaborate with the Director of Development, colleagues and Board members to develop, build and refine multi-year corporate partnership strategy, setting goals and identifying opportunities for growth in the corporate sectors, with a focus on opportunities of $25,000 and greater. This may include corporate sponsorship and membership programs, along with Employee Resources Groups and other affinity groups.
  • Create both standardized and tailored sponsorship packages that address the specific interests and priorities of each company and align with SIFF’s mission and Community Centric Fundraising principles
  • Develop thoughtful stewardship as part of a holistic strategy for each company and manage corporate benefit fulfillment by working collaboratively with marketing, communications, engagement, festival, operations, and education team

Pipeline Development (20%)

  • Support pipeline development by seeking opportunities to identify and establish new relationships while expanding on existing relationships
  • Connect with local businesses to build relationships and rapport
  • Represent SIFF in the corporate community and at corporate events to raise awareness of the organization’s mission and initiatives.
  • Coordinate with external volunteer managers to attract, engage, and manage corporate volunteer opportunitie

Responsibilities:

  • Track interactions and communications with corporate donors in the CRM software and data management tools, ensuring up-to-date and accurate records; share reports as needed
  • Work closely with SIFF’s Finance Department on revenue budgeting, cash flow projections, and accounts receivables as related to Corporate Giving
  • Assist the Director of Development in setting the annual budget for Corporate Giving revenue and expense goals and managing the budget

Organizational/Other Duties (10%):

  • Participate in Development Department meetings and attend Board meetings as needed
  • As needed, provide training to staff, volunteers, and board
