Description:
As a Corporate Sales, Foreign Exchange and Capital Markets associate, you’ll be responsible for analyzing, supporting and executing foreign exchange (FX) products and derivatives within Desjardins’s Capital Markets division. This position entails recommending effective solutions to institutional and corporate clients, complying with risk management frameworks and helping to develop products based on client needs and market opportunities. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and a natural ability to clearly synthesize complex information for a wide variety of audiences. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Help the Foreign Exchange and Derivatives team develop strategies pertaining to client hedging and follow-ups, risk management and income growth
- Develop custom foreign exchange risk management strategies for institutional and corporate clients
- Liaise with clients to understand their needs and provide value-added solutions as a trusted advisor specializing in foreign exchange products and derivatives
- Help the team manage databases, analyze data and develop presentations for clients or internal stakeholders
- Monitor risk exposure, by ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Suggest continuous improvement initiatives within the FX and Derivatives Division by optimizing systems, processes and tools
- Work with our IT teams to improve the infrastructure supporting foreign exchange and derivative transactions
- Ensure that all transactions comply with regulatory standards and internal policies by effectively managing audit and compliance requirements
- Oversee the process for establishing foreign exchange hedging policies
- Give advice and offer training to enhance the team’s foreign exchange risk hedging policy expertise
- Collaborate with other capital market or Desjardins teams to promote talent development and knowledge sharing

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or a related field
- A minimum of eight years’ relevant experience with financial markets, including school experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in foreign exchange, derivatives and related markets
- Experience managing risks related to FX and derivatives
- Experience in customer management, more specifically providing corporate and institutional clients with personalized solutions
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and quantitative analysis
- Advanced knowledge of foreign exchange and derivative instruments, regulatory environments and risk management frameworks in Canada and around the world
