Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Corporate Tax Staff Accountant in INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana. This role is crucial for the organization, where you will be coordinating with tax consultants for property taxes, notices, and Department of Revenue registrations. You will also assist in state registration areas, providing vital support to the financial function of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with tax consultants for property tax matters and notices
- Assist in Department of Revenue registrations
- Work collaboratively with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax compliance
- Leverage skills in Local Taxing, Property Tax, and Property Tax Returns to enhance tax-related processes
- Work closely with Tax Consultants who are responsible for actual returns
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations
- Provide support in other areas of accounting as needed
- Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Proficient knowledge in Local Taxing, Property Tax, and Property Tax Returns.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- Proficient in the use of tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
- High level of discretion and confidentiality for sensitive information.
