Description:

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES

  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience (e.g., corporate development, venture capital, corporate venture capital, management consulting)
  • Experience in evaluating new business models from a commercial, financial and technology basis
  • Existing network in German and European venture capital / Fintech ecosystem
  • Outstanding problem solving, analytical and project management skills, strong PowerPoint, Excel skills – fluency in multiple languages is a plus
  • Solid understanding of finance and accounting and strong financial modelling and valuation skills - understanding of/ Interest in Corporate banking products a plus
  • Comfortable working with all levels of the organization including senior executives

Responsibilities:

DETAILS OF THE ROLE AND HOW IT FITS INTO THE TEAM

The Corporate Venture Captial (CVC) & Strategic Investment Team plays a key role in supporting the execution of the division’s inorganic strategy through strategic equity investments in vital market infrastructure and emerging Fintech companies. The team is responsible for overseeing the division’s investment governance, which includes both the pursuit of new investment opportunities and the management of the existing portfolio.
As a Strategic Development Specialist, you can expect to work in close collaboration with the Corporate Bank’s business areas and portfolio companies. Your role will involve managing the investment portfolio across various stages.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitating the full spectrum of the investment/partnership lifecycle in collaboration with the business team
  • Acting as Deal Lead to execute comprehensive due diligence for potential investments and assist with ongoing portfolio management responsibilities
  • Developing financial and valuation models to evaluate both prospective and existing investments
  • Engaging with product teams to understand their strategic goals, product roadmaps, and perspectives on industry evolution
  • Conducting market analysis to pinpoint emerging trends, deal opportunities, and innovative startups, thereby contributing to an evolving heatmap of the FinTech landscape and forecasting competitive dynamics
  • Assembling presentations and decision documents for executive leadership and investment committees, along with performing targeted ad-hoc analyses
  • Connecting startups with product divisions to explore potential commercialization pathways
  • Overseeing the performance metrics of investments and tracking the progress of companies within the portfolio
