JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Ontario 1st Class or 2nd Class Power Engineering Certification will be considered.
  • The successful candidate if qualified will fulfill the regulatory designation of Chief Power Engineer or will cover as the Acting Chief Engineer for the Corunna Hyco facility.
  • 5+ years experience in pant operations including supervisory.
  • Demonstrated commitment to EH&S with a track record of success on Safety, Environmental protection, Quality, Regulation compliance and employee involvement.
  • A strong commitment to employee involvement, team building and diversity/inclusion.
  • Ability to effectively interface with support groups.
  • A self-starter with proven leadership abilities
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in Maintenance an asset.
  • Ability to promote respect and teamwork in the workplace.
  • The successful candidate will be required to complete Catalyze, Energize Leadership Program coordinated through Air Products University.
  • Computer literacy, MS Office platform and knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities:

PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Area Manager, the Site Supervisor (Chief Engineer) will have broad responsibilities in supporting the Area Manager as part of the local Leadership Team and supporting all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Corunna team and equipment. The individual will be responsible to lead a team of Plant Operators. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to gain technical proficiency in order to provide back-up for the other Site Supervisors and Area Manager. A primary function will be to interact regularly and effectively with the customers, contractors, and site Control Engineer, build strong relationships with customers and contractors, and find opportunities to improve the efficiency of the plant so as to increase opportunities to supply additional product. The Site Supervisor will work closely with the business area in this capacity.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Supervise regular scheduling activities & special projects, and act to remedy any difficulties.
  • Support of all aspects of the day-to-day operation
  • Ensure smooth running of the operation activities as it relates to managing staff, equipment, contractors, etc…
  • Interface with tactical planning to ensure inventory management of the facility products.
  • Foster teamwork and create an environment of inclusion. Develop staff in order to stay current on all training requirements.
  • Approve and ensure weekly pay data is entered into ADP system for processing.
  • Provides effective customer interface.
  • Ensure compliance with TSSA regulations and provide mandatory training according to APCL procedures & policies and Ontario governmental regulations (Dangerous Goods, environmental, etc…)
  • Ensure that every employee participate in the Air Products BSP (Basic Safety Program).
  • Ensure high safety record achieved according to Safety performance and safety management.
  • Participate and give feedback to our local Joint Health and Safety Committee.
  • A strong understanding and presentation of safety meetings is a must.
  • Implement Best Practices designed to produce optimal distribution of products.
  • Actively participate and encourage in productivity and cost reduction improvements, i.e. Lean Enterprise, I’s of Performance, Team Development, KPI’s tracking, CI events.
