Description:
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Costing Partner, you will operate within the BD Swiss inventory team which is part of the General Accounting Centre of Excellence (GA COE). In this role you ensure correct accounting for, and reporting off, all intercompany movements in BD’s European distribution entities. This role also ensures that price purchase controls are applied in compliance with the company’s compliance regime.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- You recently graduated in a finance or accounting degree or have accounting experience,
- Proficient in written and spoken English and love to work in an international context,
- People describe you as a strong collaborator, but you can also work independently,
- Good knowledge of Microsoft PC tools. Especially your excel skills are top notch,
- You can work within a complex, dynamic and changing environment,
- Strong customer orientation (countries, business, functions),
- Excellent communicator and a strong analytical mind
Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly reconciliations between the inventory management system and (SAP) financial accounting system,
- Investigating and resolving purchase price variances (PPV),
- Work together with the Costing Partner in costing or pricing related queries,
- Support local controllers in matters of local transfer pricing methodology and documentation requirements for local tax authorities throughout Europe,
- Understanding the importance of our compliance obligations. Support and adhere to our strong framework of controls (both internal and SOX (Sarbanes and Oxley))
- Actively support and involved in the standard cost update process in the costing system for annual budget with Plant Controllers,
- Identify and discuss continuous improvements with your team and Costing Partner,
- Be one of the points of contact for standard cost update in the costing system,
- Daily maintenance and updating transfer pricing rules in systems,
- Follow up on credit notes and invoices due from selling entities and plants,
- Other ad-hoc pricing duties,
- Cooperation with external and internal auditors.
