Job Description: The Cost accountant will provide financial leadership for a growing dynamic business with a twenty-year history of delivering proven market-disrupting services to the construction industry. It will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer, and work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Sales. Epsilon is part of the HTS Engineering Ltd group of companies and the Cost accountant work in collaboration with the parent company finance team.

SKILLS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in, Business, Accounting/ Finance or related fields is preferred.
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills required with knowledge and experience in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to effectively interact across various functional groups.
  • Proven experience in data analysis and maintaining data accuracy.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong understanding of data integration and financial reporting.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams, production managers, and senior executives to achieve financial objectives and drive operational improvements.
    Other: Note: this position is in Kingston, Ontario. The successful candidate is expected to live local or plan to relocate to the area prior to starting employment. This position is in office.

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the Project Management team to streamline data integration, through project creation, progress measurement, cost forecasting and preparing monthly internal project accounting reports on large and complex sized projects.
  • Partner with the Production Management team to ensure precision in data forecasting and estimates.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement team to maintain data accuracy and enhance operational analytics. Ensures that procurement processes are followed, variance drivers are properly identified and resolved.
  • Collaborate with the Finance team to ensure accurate data is provided for financial reporting. This includes:
  • Prepare and maintain project schedule using current project systems tool (such as Solidworks and Genius)
  1. Support preparation of budget, forecasts and reconcile actual costs against project forecast/budget.
  • Provide comprehensive data analysis to support cross-departmental initiatives.
  • Support the plant inventory management including the cycle count.
  • Ad Hoc duties
