Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in cost planning, budgeting, and providing cross-functional support to various departments within the organization. This is a great opportunity for a professional with strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset who thrives in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain cost accounting and financial tracking systems
- Analyze manufacturing costs and provide recommendations to reduce production costs
- Comply with US GAAP principles
- Conduct general audits and ledger entries
- Conduct inventory checks and report any changes
- Assist senior management in developing and maintaining a robust business costing system
- Implement feedback and changes whenever possible
- Create visualizations that convey accurate financial views of the project
- Collaborate with finance personnel to develop approaches for creating more-accurate financial records and models for the company
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of direct cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 2+ years of experience in International Accounting Principles (IAP).

- Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret complex financial data and derive actionable insights.
- Problem-Solving: Proactively identifies issues and implements effective solutions.
- Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to support cross-departmental initiatives.
- Communication: Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
- Time Management: Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects efficiently.
Preferences:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Experience with APP software or similar cost accounting tools.
- Professional certification in accounting (e.g., CPA, CMA).
- Familiarity with ERP systems and manufacturing operations.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements ?
- This position will be based in Barrie, Canada with minimal anticipated travel.
