Description:
NextStar Energy (NSE) is an innovative joint venture company between LG and Stellantis. It will be Canada’s first large-scale lithium-ion battery production plant when it begins production at the Twin Oaks site in Windsor, Ontario. The manufacturing facility will have an annual targeted production capacity in excess of 49 gigawatt hours and will create an estimated 2,500 new jobs in Windsor and the surrounding areas.

As a Cost Accountant, you will play a critical role in managing our cost accounting processes, analyzing financial data, and providing insights to help drive business decisions. You will collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Cost Accountant or in a similar role (3-5 years of experience)
- Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI user, SAP knowledge preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities:
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, budgets, and forecasts.
- Analyze and report on raw materials
- Monitor and control costs, identifying areas for improvement.
- Conduct variance analysis and assist in the month-end close process.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to establish cost standards.
- Be a liaison between the accounting team and the FP&A team
- Review and refine cost accounting methods and procedures.
- Support financial audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain accurate records and assist in the development of financial models.
- Participate in quarterly inventory counts
