Description:

We are offering a role for a Cost Accountant in Oxnard, California, 93030, United States. The individual will be primarily responsible for interpreting requirements based on engineering drawings, data forms, and sketches to prepare accurate cost estimates for complex manufacturing projects in the aerospace industry. The role involves working closely with various departments to ensure detailed design clarification and efficient decision-making processes.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret engineering drawings, data forms, and sketches to prepare accurate cost estimates for manufacturing projects.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Purchasing departments to ensure detailed design clarification.
  • Generate bills of material, internal quote requests, and manufacturing engineering forms.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of manufacturing methods and material costs.
  • Document and present cost estimates for management review to drive the success of new product development initiatives.
  • Utilize software and tools effectively to generate accurate cost estimates, such as Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Display strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate cost analysis.
  • Display proficiency in accounting functions and cost analysis.
  • Develop an annual standard cost for the manufacturing projects.
  • Manage and maintain the Bill of materials (BOM) accurately.
  • Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning
  • Demonstrated ability in performing Accounting Functions
  • Proven experience in Cost Analysis
  • Knowledge of Annual Standard Cost procedures
  • Understanding of Bill of Materials (BOM)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in work.
