Cost Accounting Manager

We are seeking a Cost Accounting Manager to join our team located in Mentor, Ohio. This role involves managing all facets of product standard costing, analyzing manufacturing results, and driving business decisions through data-driven metrics. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory reserves and providing product costs for new business items.

• Lead the design, implementation, and control of all aspects of product standard costing.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure the standard cost system needs are met and provide data to drive business decisions.
• Support product gross margin analysis through the examination of costing data trends.
• Analyze monthly manufacturing results, ensuring overhead rates align with budget expectations.
• Explain variances in terms of volume and spending in relation to manufacturing output.
• Break down site cost structure into fixed and variable components for product and product line profitability analysis.
• Lead the provision of product costs for price setting on new business items.
• Build ad hoc models to understand profitability impact such as Excess & Obsolete inventory.
• Drive change and improve business results through data-driven metrics.
• Maintain proper inventory reserves and manage monthly variance capitalization schedules.
• Measure and report on Purchase Price Variance (PPV) trends and analysis.
• Lead, mentor, and motivate staff.

• Must possess at least 5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential.
• Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required.
• Familiarity with Crystal Reports is a must.
• Proficient in Epicor and ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning.
• Ability to handle various Accounting Functions.
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) operations is necessary.
• Auditing skills are required.
• Familiarity with Budget Processes is essential.
• Proficient in Cost Accounting.
• Experience in Manufacturing Cost Accounting and Standard Cost Accounting.
• Knowledge of Margin Analysis and Gross Margin Analysis is required.
• Familiarity with Standard Costing and Manufacturing processes.
• Ability to conduct Variance Analysis.
• Experience with Inventory Reserves is necessary.
