As a Cost Control Analyst working in the Building team at Pomerleau Construction, you will play a key role in contributing significantly to the analyzing of the cost controls within our projects. Supporting our work on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you will ensure compliance within the standards of established when projects are opened whilst also collaborating with the project team in establishment of budget structures.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Ensure the integrity and conformity of revenues and actual costs declared on projects on a monthly basis.
  • Analyze and ensure the integrity of monthly closing cost controls, including inter-divisional transactions.
  • Collaborate in the contribute to the monitoring of risks and opportunities and discuss major deviations with the Cost Control Manager and Regional Leadership.
  • Take ownership in including administrative teams in project start-ups and resolving issues to ensure smooth administrative running of projects.
  • Collaborate with project team in the development of a cost control structure for stewardship projects.
  • Report any discrepancies or major problems identified during the cost control review to the Cost Control Manager and Regional Leadership.
  • Have active participation in the development of new analysis tools and coordinate their implementation while providing training to users (Dashboard and others).
  • Assist in the training of new employees on cost control tools and procedures.

THIS ROLE COULD BE FOR YOU IF YOU HAVE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, business administration, or finance-related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar position within the construction industry.
  • Ability to anticipate and plan priority tasks, good listening skills and synthesis abilities.
