Description:

Seeking a qualified Cost Control Engineer for a high-rise tower project in Dubai.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in cost control or project cost management within the construction industry, desirably with a Tier-1 Main Contractor.
  • Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional certifications such as RICS, PMP are a plus.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Pay: AED18,000.00 - AED20,000.00 per month

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost control systems and procedures for the project.
  • Monitor project expenditures, commitments, and actual costs to ensure alignment with approved budgets.
  • Calculate and report on “Cost to Complete” estimates, based on actual data, trends, and changes in scope, providing early warnings of potential cost overruns.
  • Ensure accurate recording of project expenditures, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Prepare cost reports on a regular basis, highlighting cost variances and providing detailed explanations of discrepancies.
  • Follow up on productivity across different project teams to ensure labor and resource efficiency is maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Analyze productivity data to ensure that project milestones are met within the allotted time and budget.
  • Collaborate with the project team to prepare and update cost projections throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as requested by senior management or project teams, including cost breakdowns, detailed analyses, and updates on specific areas of concern or interest.
  • Review and analyze subcontractor agreements and procurement documentation to ensure costs align with project budgets.
  • Track and report on cost deviations, providing actionable insights for corrective actions.
  • Work closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, accountants and procurement teams to ensure accurate and timely cost data is available.
