Venco Imtiaz Contracting Company the contracting division of Imtiaz Developments, is a leading construction company in Dubai specializing in high-rise building projects. As the main contractor for several prestigious developments, we are committed to delivering excellence. We are seeking a Cost Control Engineer to join our cost control team and oversee project budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure financial performance aligns with project objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Cost Controller with building contracting companies in UAE.
    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
    Pay: AED1.00 per month

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and control project budgets, ensuring costs align with approved estimates and identifying variances for corrective action.
  • Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques to measure project performance by integrating scope, cost, and schedule metrics.
  • Calculate key EVM indicators such as Planned Value (PV), Earned Value (EV), and Actual Cost (AC) to assess project health.
  • Analyze EVM metrics like Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI) to identify trends and forecast project outcomes.
  • Review and verify subcontractor and supplier invoices to ensure accuracy and compliance with contract terms before processing for payment.
  • Track and analyze actual project costs against budgets, identifying trends and reporting discrepancies to the project management team.
  • Prepare cost reports and dashboards, providing detailed insights into financial performance for ongoing projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow projections and update them based on actual expenditure and project progress.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and validate cost-related data, such as material usage and manpower deployment.
  • Coordinate with procurement and quantity surveying teams to evaluate and approve material and subcontractor requests based on budgetary constraints.
  • Analyze change orders, variations, and claims to determine their impact on the project budget and ensure proper documentation.
  • Maintain an updated cost database for materials, equipment, and labor to improve the accuracy of future cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with the planning team to ensure the alignment of cost and schedule performance metrics.
  • Generate monthly cost control reports, highlighting potential overruns and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor contract commitments and ensure timely recording of obligations to avoid over-commitment of resources.
  • Support the finance department in tracking project-related financial transactions and reconciling accounts.
  • Participate in project risk assessments to identify potential cost impacts and develop contingency plans.
