About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Cost Controller on our ASTI projects based in Aberdeen.
Please note: This is a flexible position – for the preferred candidates, it may be project based or office based but site travel would be required, within this role you’ll report directly to the senior finance manager.
Due to the nature of the role, a full driving license would be required.
What you’ll be doing

As a Cost Controller you’ll:

  • Assist the project team with cost queries and gaining back-up/validation to costs
  • Support Commercial function by ensuring correct cost allocation and running of weekly cost reports
  • Conducting variance analysis of actual v forecast costs
  • Monitor and tracking of costs
  • Interfaces with: Senior Finance Manager, Site Project Team, HR and BB Newcastle and wider finance teams
  • Liaise with External: Suppliers and Contractors
  • Work with Clients stakeholders to facilitate audits monthly/quarterly provide samples of costs to enable audits and validation.
  • Support Finance Manager and Commercial Lead in any ad-hoc analysis.

  • Thrives in a busy environment and enjoys a challenge
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised and able to work on own initiative
  • Review and Prioritise tasks with accuracy
  • High levels of IT Literacy, preferably used Oracle R12 accounts system but not essential.
  • Full driving licence
  • Gain understanding of Oracle R12 CVR (link between Commercial Project reporting and Financial project reporting)
