As we continue to grow, so too does our team. We are looking for the right candidate to take on the role of Cost Controller . This is a 12 month, Fixed Term role, based in our Port Macquarie office on the beautiful Hastings River in Port Macquarie, NSW.
The Cost Controller will be be instrumental in assisting the transactional accounting, financial robustness, reporting and analysis including consolidating and preparing all internal and external reporting obligations across multiple Projects at the Port Macquarie Site.
A significant part of the role entails maintaining accounting functions, month-end project activities, project analysis and adjustments, investigating cost variances, forecasts and ensuring accuracies. You will work with the Project Manager and Deputy Project Manager to maintain the Project budget baseline and manage all cost reporting and baseline changes as required as a part of the Earned Value Management of Projects.
You will contribute to continuous improvement, change management and automation of financial processes, maintain controls and support ad-hoc duties as assigned.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
A significant part of role entails maintaining accounting functions, month-end closing activities, project analysis and adjustments, investigating accounting variances and ensuring accuracies.
- assisting the transactional accounting, financial robustness, reporting and analysis including consolidating and preparing internal and external reporting obligations.
- Delivery of month-end analysis and reporting into Project and the Central Finance Teams on job cost and to support Project Earned Value Management.
- Working closely with schedulers and project team members, overseeing cost code and resource booking processes to support accurate cost capture.
- Assistance, development and support to team ensuring key monthly, quarterly and annual deadlines are achieved including preparation of customer invoices, working with accounts payable on timely payments and ongoing streamlining of processes to enable project delivery.
- Play an active role in the development of financial reporting within the projects including resource cost coding, budget.
Ad hoc involvement and support in wider finance projects.
