Description:

Costing Executive
As a Costing Executive, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the costing & pricing activities related to specific jobs, projects, or orders received within the organization. Your primary role will involve ensuring accurate cost estimation, effective pricing strategies, profitability analysis, tracking, and reporting for various projects or orders undertaken by organization to support decision-making, insightful costing information, contributing and financial planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation:
  • Estimate costs associated with labor, materials, subcontracting, and overhead expenses for each job, project, or order.
  • Utilize historical data, industry benchmarks, and inputs from stakeholders to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Pricing Strategy:
  • Develop pricing models and strategies that align with cost estimates, market conditions, and profitability targets.
  • Analyze pricing trends, competitor pricing strategies, and customer requirements to optimize pricing decisions.
  • Cost Tracking and Analysis:
  • Monitor and track actual costs incurred against budgeted costs throughout the lifecycle of projects or orders.
  • Conduct variance analysis and provide explanations for any deviations from budgeted costs.
  • Profitability Analysis:
  • Prepare profitability reports and analysis for completed projects or orders.
  • Identify factors influencing profitability and recommend actions to improve financial performance.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Prepare regular reports on project or order costing, pricing analysis, and profitability metrics.
  • Present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders as needed.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with project managers, sales teams, procurement, and finance departments to ensure alignment of costing and pricing strategies with business objectives.
  • Provide support during contract negotiations and bid processes by offering accurate costing information.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate and improve costing and pricing processes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Implement best practices and standardized methodologies across projects or orders.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned
