ABOUT US
Safe Network is the Government’s preferred provider of community-based therapeutic services for children, adolescents, and adults with concerning, problematic and harmful sexual behaviour across the upper North Island. We understand that there are many reasons why children people may exhibit sexual behaviours that are inappropriate or unexpected for their age, most often linked to traumatic experiences, poor impulse control and emotional regulation, and a need for connection.
Working across our Manukau and Grafton sites, you will utilise your therapeutic skills to support our tamariki through:
- Conducting assessments and delivering interventions from a wider systemic and socio-ecological perspective.
- Using your clinical expertise to provide a range of therapeutic interventions with children, and their system of support, including family, caregivers, schools, and other agencies.
- Effectively managing own caseload and administrative requirements.
- Initiating and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders to best support the child and their whanau.
- Bringing hope and making a sustainable difference to children, their families and their communities
Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
Working across our Manukau and Grafton sites, you will utilise your therapeutic skills to support our tamariki through:

- Using your clinical expertise to provide a range of therapeutic interventions with children, and their system of support, including family, caregivers, schools, and other agencies.
- Effectively managing own caseload and administrative requirements.
- Initiating and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders to best support the child and their whanau.
- Bringing hope and making a sustainable difference to children, their families and their communities!
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Experience working with tamariki in a therapeutic setting.
- Tertiary level therapeutic qualification with New Zealand registration with a relevant professional body.
- Experience forming strong, client centred therapeutic alliances with tamariki and their families/whanau.
- The ability to work closely with the child’s school and social systems.
- Strong clinical report writing skills and an ability to conceptualise and formulate case intervention plans.
- An understanding on the influence of trauma and attachment on behaviour.
- Ideally be available to travel - working across our Manukau and Grafton sites (primarily based in Manukau)
