QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology, Career Counselling, or “Sciences de l’Orientation” and two to four years of related work experience.
- Licenced Member of the Ordre des conseillers et conseillères d’orientation du Québec (OCCOQ).
- Good spoken and written English (Level 4) and good spoken French (Level 4) to provide individual and group counselling to students and consult with internal and external clients, and to maintain client records and develop workshops and programs. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset.
- Basic knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills with the ability to deal sensitively with individuals as well as to give workshops. Empathy and approachability (is sensitive and patient with others) is an asset.
- Composure (remains calm and in control in difficult situations) is an asset.
- Ability to handle multiple, varying tasks and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Aptitude to work in a service-oriented environment as both a member of a team and independently.
- Ability to collaborate with other counsellors and professionals on workshop development, projects. and communities of practice.

Responsibilities:
- Provide individual/group supportive and career counselling as defined by the Career Counselling & Educational Transition unit policies and in accordance with provisions of the licensing bodies.
- Select, administer, and interpret psychometric tests.
- Develop, plan and deliver educational, psychological, vocational and life-skills-training workshops for students.
- Maintain client records in accordance with professional order guidelines.
- Consult with internal and external bodies and refer clients when necessary.
- Participate in the planning and execution of Student Success Centre events.
- Perform other duties in support of the operation of the unit.
