Counsellor Specialist - Women & Children's Services

The post holders will be responsible for delivering high quality time-limited therapy to patients, relatives and staff referred to the Counselling Service following a recent complex, often traumatic, bereavement or inpatient experience. This will involve providing comprehensive specialist psychological assessments, liaising with multidisciplinary teams and providing consultation to colleagues and families, whilst working autonomously within professional guidelines, exercising personal responsibility for the systematic governance of professional practice. Clinical casework primarily involves providing specialist therapy for individuals and couples suffering from a range of issues associated with complex trauma, acute or chronic illness, bereavement, multiple loss, infertility, and disability
