We are looking for an experienced Sustainability Manager to spearhead our sustainability initiatives, enhance sustainability as a growth driver, and increase brand trust in Finland.
You lead with IKEA culture and values and are driven by our vision and seeing the IKEA contribution in a broader context in society.

To succeed in this role, you need:

  • A minimum of 5 years of senior leadership experience in strategic sustainability or business, with a preference for 10 years.
  • Genuine passion about sustainability, capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with a team.
  • In-depth understanding of balancing environmental, social, and economic aspects to secure long term business continuity and profitability.
  • Proficiency in analyzing data to measure the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and make informed decisions.
  • Proven expertise in leading change initiatives and managing both internal and external stakeholders, see the big picture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, coupled with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The role is full time (37,5h/week) and permanent.
Workplace is located at IKEA Finland Service office in Espoo.

Responsibilities:

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Country Sustainability Manager you will provide strategic and dynamic leadership, collaborating across the business to implement IKEA Sustainability Strategy throughout the organization, increasing brand trust and enabling growth.

You will also:

  • Overall responsible for the integration and implementation of IKEA Sustainability Strategy, through clearly defined accountabilities and responsibilities in the business and supporting as a competent business partner, while securing local relevance.
  • By understanding consumers in the market, be the voice of sustainability working across the business where decisions are made to set positive changes to people and plant requirements on the total country organization, empowering others to deliver.
  • Integrate the sustainability agenda across all customer meeting points and channels.
  • Apply approved methods and tools from Group Sustainability to connect with relevant Service Office functions to all units to coach, guide and mentor in closing the performance gap.
  • Secure country adaption of the global direction and ambitions. Develop and continually maintain an outside-in perspective, following and listening for trends, topics and future thinking.
  • Be an effective external and internal spokesperson, participate in advocacy activities, events, networking and empower others to become sustainability ambassadors.
  • Secure positive impact on local communities where IKEA operates through deep understanding of the local communities and co-creating with identified key local stakeholders.
  • Empower and engage all co-workers in creating a new IKEA with sustainability at the core by working together with the sustainability matrix, contributing and sharing key learnings.
