EDSL 254-001 - Second Professional Seminar TESL
The course aims to develop basic practices in planning and teaching in ESL classrooms at the elementary and secondary levels, including reflective analysis. Professional portfolios and professional competencies will be addressed.

Teaching Qualification Requirements:

Education

  • A Master’s degree (In exceptional circumstances applicants without a Master’s degree but with significant research or professional experience related to the course content may be considered)
  • A teaching degree or equivalent, and experience teaching in English as a Second Language (ESL)

Experience

  • Expert knowledge and experience in course content
  • Knowledge of the Quebec Education Program (QEP)
  • Familiarity with the 13 professional competencies specified in the Ministère de l’Éducation
  • Previous successful teaching similar course(s) to pre-service teachers an asset
  • Experience teaching ESL in the Quebec French school system

Other

  • A commitment to working with a team of committed and engaged instructors
  • Must be available to attend course coordination and planning meeting minimum of 2 weeks in advance of the course start date
  • A commitment to working collaboratively in planning and delivering the course, to achieve l’approche programme (as mandated by CAPFE)
