The Ministry of Justice and Attorney General provides a fair justice system that upholds the law and protects the rights of all individuals in Saskatchewan; promotes safe and secure communities; and provides legal and justice policy advice to government.

The Courts and Community Justice Division is seeking a skilled, ethical, confident individual to work at the Saskatoon Provincial Court to provide comprehensive clerical support. As a member of a team of professionals you will be in daily contact with the public, lawyers, police agencies, community agencies and offenders and will:

  • handle walk-in and telephone inquiries regarding court dockets and dispositions, status of accounts, explaining applicable policies and procedures, acts and regulations;
  • receive payments in accordance with court orders and perform basic accounting duties;
  • provide guidance to individuals seeking to file claims in the civil division and general applications within the jurisdiction of Provincial Court;
  • enter and retrieve data using the Criminal Justice Information Management System (CJIMS);
  • prepare and format court documents in accordance with court orders and applicable legislation using the CJIMS system or word processing software;
  • administer and certify court documents to reflect the order of the court;
  • prepare and forward relevant material when transcripts are requested of recorded court proceedings;
  • take payment for fines, surcharges, and bail;
  • be required to climb ladders to retrieve files and carry heavy boxes up to 20 kg that contain files and documents; and
  • may be required to travel to and provide support to other court locations.
