Description:
The Priory Hospital Southampton is part of the Priory group offering inpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health difficulties. The hospital is located in Marchwood on the outskirts of Southampton and comprises of 42 inpatient beds across three wards. We have a highly experienced team of mental health professionals and support staff which include consultant psychiatrists, nurses, specialty doctors, occupational therapists, dietetics, social work and a well established Psychology team. The three wards in the hospital offer a range of inpatient mental health services.
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic Creative arts therapist who holds full accreditation appropriate for their training to work as an integral member of the MDT to support in providing evidence based therapy interventions across all 3 wards.
The successful candidate will join a motivated and passionate Psychology team which currently consists of two Psychologists, two therapists and an assistant Psychologist.
You will develop and provide specialist Art Therapy groups using your own arts therapy modality (Art, Music, Drama or Dance Movement).
Alongside a diverse mix of clinical work, there will also be an opportunity to work with the psychology team to write and develop group therapies programmes, become part of our weekly group consult alongside excellent CPD opportunities. There is an opportunity to get involved with staff support and wellbeing through running both group clinical supervision and reflective practice across the wards.
It is essential you are an accredited therapist and currently registered with Health and Care professions Council (HCPC).
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic experienced Arts Therapist who has the desire to become part of a psychology team with an aim to develop their own experience, but also develop a service that is person centred, compassionate and constantly evolving.
