KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Marketing, Art or related field with a combination of equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years’ experience in Agency, Client-side or In-house creative services.
  • 2+ years’ experience leading a team of creative staff, or contract designers, with a focus on print production management.
  • Proficient and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (Including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Bridge, Dreamweaver, Etc.) Microsoft Office, and project management software.
  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keen attention to detail, and extremely organized.
  • Photography and event related experience is a plus.
  • Understanding of HTML, CSS and e-mail communications a plus.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Willingness to travel about 15% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for management of the workflow of projects and creative efforts for OPTAVIA’s print, photography, video, digital, and production.
  • Manages creative pipeline and brief process from initial concept and design stage to final artwork/production.
  • Responsible for outsourcing when necessary to ensure timely delivery.
  • Makes decisions on Field creative outputs, while identifying production requirements, and maintaining appropriate approval process.
  • Establishes and assures production timelines and deadlines for all creative projects are met and maintains an accurate daily status of all current design projects.
  • Applies best practices in sourcing the most efficient production means possible (be it in-house or externally provided) while maintaining quality levels consistent with OPTAVIA brand standards.
  • Raises the bar creatively and improves results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing work process to offer improvements. While offering new ideas, mentorship, and training opportunities to creative team for further professional development.
  • Recommends changes to design and video production. While providing creative direction on all print and marketing materials based on scope of work and desired outcome.
  • Maintains and monitors standards for the OPTAVIA brand within the Field Marketing & Communication team.
  • Meets cost standards; budgets and monitors expenses to implement cost savings opportunities.
  • Provides effective leadership, direction and coaching to direct and indirect reports including, but not limited to, delegating, staffing, performance appraisals, promotions, salary recommendations and terminations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
