A credit control supervisor manages a company’s credit accounts and cash flow. They assess credit risks, set payment terms, and ensure timely collection of debts. Their goal is to minimize financial losses while maintaining positive customer relationships. They play a crucial role in balancing sales growth with financial stability by implementing and enforcing credit policies.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Matric / Grade 12
Certificate or Diploma in Credit Management – Level I, II, III, IV
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Credit Control.
Must have excellent attention to detail skills together with time management skills.
Advanced Excel skills essential.
Computer literate - SAP
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Must be a team player.
Driver’s licence essential.

Responsibilities:

Comply with work rules, standards and methods. Take care to minimise waste. Identify and provide feedback on cost saving initiatives within area of control.
Build, support and maintain interpersonal and team relationships to ensure stable working environment and achievement of team objectives.
Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organizational goals. Implement remedial actions where required.
Plan, schedule, coordinate and supervise subordinate activities to ensure efficient and achievement of goals. Participate in people development initiatives such as performance management, succession planning and talent management to ensure team performance meets required standards. Coach employees on lower levels to ensure knowledge transfer and skills development.
Complete individual development plan. Attend learning and development courses. Participate in peer team learning initiatives.
Adhere to and ensure adherence to statutory regulations, organisational standards, policies and procedures. Report non-compliance and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance.
Obtain check and refine information. Collate and submit reports timeously. Run data exception reports and take corrective action. Conduct document control spot checks.

Follow up on queries/discrepancies timeously.
Checking and signing all the journal and CBV’S for lawyer’s invoice and schedules processed by the Receivable administrator and sign. Ensuring it is processed correctly on the SAP system. (Checking PC, VAT etc.)
Ensure Journals are signed by management.
Journals are scanned and attached to SAP system and released.
Clearing of the accounts after journals is released.
Check all salvage journals on the schedule and give to the Receivable administrator for submission for payment.
Checking remittances for lawyer’s payments against the book to ensure all is paid and not in arrears.
Follow up with CGIC claims and accept it on Cregalink and ensure it is paid on time.
Checking handover file and documents to be signed by management for hand over.
Sending weekly updated legal age-analysis (Every Friday) to management.
Update schedule on the server with all files handed over and claims submitted. Compare it at month end with the Receivable administrators list to ensure all is on Management’s report.
Responsible for Refunds.
Compile daily bank statement export to SAP system.
Reconcile bank accounts daily to ensure all payments are allocated. Follow up with COD payments to be finalized with the respective branches.
Assisting on clearing the General ledgers.
Ensure new accounts are being attended (opened or declined) as per company rules. Keep schedule up to date.
Assisting with releasing of credit held orders.
Ensure the files from the Receivable administrator is up to date and according to standard for management’s review/instructions etc.
Prepare Business rescue claims forms and get it signed off by management. Ensure the documents are commissioned. Make a copy for the file and submit to the relevant BRP via email.
Prepare Liquidation claims forms and get it signed off by management. Ensure the documents are commissioned. Make a copy for the file and submit to the relevant liquidator via email.
Have own sheet and keep up to date with all reports received from the lawyers, with monthly updates and all relevant information.
