Description:
SUMMARY
Accept, review and analyze loan documents from application to closing. Prepare and maintain member business loan files and ensure accuracy. Provide exceptional service to all members in accordance with the Credit Unions service standards.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A high school or general equivalency diploma (GED) is required; plus two years or more of experience with credit systems in a full service financial institution; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provides the minimum knowledge, skills and abilities, thereof.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial statements, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to members and employees.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Accounting background with ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of financial management. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations involved in job functions and practices.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to operate standard office equipment and tools such as postage machine, fax machine, telephones, photocopier, typewriter, and utilize appropriate versions of current computer software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING JOB FUNCTIONS. OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS MAY BE ASSIGNED FROM TIME TO TIME. THE JOB FUNCTIONS CONTAINED HEREIN ARE INTENDED TO BE SUPPLEMENTED BY STRATEGIC PLANNING GOALS WHICH DESCRIBE VARIOUS INDIVIDUAL TASKS ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH FUNCTIONS.
- Meet and conduct interviews with prospects and members regarding their loan applications relative to member business loans and/or government guaranteed loan programs such as the Small Business Administration (SBA) and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
- Collect, consolidate and analyze financial data such as balance sheet, income statements, cash flows, projections, personal financial statements, credit reports and other related documents in preparation for loan underwriting.
- Assemble, summarize and verify accuracy of member business loan documentation in accordance with established operating procedures.
- Assist the Business Credit Officer and the Business Credit Supervisor in evaluating new loans, renewals and completing annual loan reviews, as assigned.
- Ensure loan files contain documents with appropriate signatures, dates, and other relevant requirements.
- Order appraisals, credit reports and inquiries, background checks, reference checks and other information on loan applicants.
- Update new and existing member business loan files on a regular basis.
- Assist with the preparation of Indication Letters and Commitment Letters for issuance to prospects and members.
- Provide administrative assistance to Business Credit Officer, Business Credit Supervisor and Chief Lending Officer.
- Answer telephone and written inquiries concerning member business loan processing and information; handle inquiries from applicants and branch personnel; resolve basic member complaints received internally or externally.
- Work with Credit Solutions Services Department to research or assist with business members on delinquent payments and related issues.
- Prepare spreadsheets, departmental activity reports, summaries and recommendations for Business Credit Officer, Business Credit Supervisor and Chief Lending Officer on new, renewal, and existing loans, as needed.
- Cross-sells credit unions products and services.
- Performs other duties as might be assigned from time to time.
