Join Corrs Chambers Westgarth, Australia’s leading independent law firm.
We are looking for an experienced credit professional, with drive, motivation and strong customer service skills to join our Finance Operations team on a full-time basis to cover a 12 month period of parental leave. This role has flexibility to be based from either our Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne offices.
The Credit Manager is responsible for the management of the credit team nationally. The Credit Managers primary objective is the development and implementation of strategies, practices and procedures to reduce the firm’s debtors and debtor days in order to maximise its cash position.
Key responsibilities
Development of strategies, practices and procedures to reduce the firm’s debtors and debtor days.
Development and implementation of procedures to ensure that all new clients meet the appropriate credit criteria.
Management of all debtors nationally.
Monitoring and maintaining the bad and doubtful debts.
Monitor the reduction of the number of days outstanding for receivables.
To assist in the implementation of consistent collection practices across the firm.
To provide and manage a high level of service and support to internal and external clients.
Coaching, up-skilling and mentoring of Credit staff.
Required qualifications and preferred experience
Extensive Credit management experience (preferably within a professional services organisation).
Proven management ability of people and resources.
Ability to interact at a senior level within and outside Business services, in particular with Partners.
Highly competent with Word/Excel and preferably CMS software.
Required skills and personal attributes
Takes responsibility for building and maintaining relationships. Instils this service commitment in others on their team.
Contacts internal clients regularly as appropriate to understand the client’s perspective.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent attention to detail.
Successfully manages the planning, administrative, delivery and conclusion of projects and client work.
