Description:

Are you passionate about data and looking to make a meaningful impact in the fintech world? Join our dynamic team at Mogo Finance as a Credit Risk Analyst! Reporting to the Senior Manager, Credit Risk, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our lending portfolio. You will create and maintain performance reports, share valuable insights to support strategic decision-making, and develop innovative solutions to meet our business needs. Your contributions will directly influence the development and implementation of risk strategies, supporting the overall risk appetite set by our forward-thinking leadership team.
The base salary for this role is: $55,000-$75,000 CAD

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Post-secondary diploma or bachelor’s degree (Major in Finance, Data Science, Commerce, or Economics preferred).
  • 2-3 years of work experience in data analysis using SQL or similar coding languages.
  • Advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, including PowerPivot.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong proven research, analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of financial and credit reports, and reporting systems, processes, and controls.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy, especially working with numbers and dollars.
  • Ability to take initiative proactively and work independently in a remote environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective cross-functional communication.
  • Ability to prioritize and work with tight deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with credit risk underwriting and adjudication.
  • Experience with Snowflake and Looker.
  • Experience with AI and Machine Learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain performance reports.

  • Assist in developing and implementing risk models and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments for comprehensive risk management.
  • Interact with stakeholders to gather information and provide insights on credit status.
  • Stay informed about market trends and economic factors affecting the portfolio.
  • Utilize advanced tools and software to enhance analysis accuracy and efficiency.
