JOB DESCRIPTION

Credit Risk Middle Office (CRMO) is part of the Reporting Middle Office and Control organisation within Corporate Risk. Our role is primarily focused on support for the Wholesale Credit Risk organisation globally. Key functions include limit breach monitoring, ongoing credit risk client maintenance and resolution of operational issues.
As a Credit Risk Management Office Analyst in the Credit Risk Management team, you will work the fund onboarding team whose position is ultimately to ensure that new and existing asset management clients are analysed in terms of their risk profile and then provided with the necessary credit lines in order to facilitate our business with them (primarily derivatives trading and custody services). The current team is split by regional portfolio and you, once fully trained, will take on a portfolio that consists of fund managers across a number of mainly European countries. The team plays an integral role in the wider onboarding process and partners closely with Credit Risk and onboarding teams.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Entry-level or experienced in financial services, operations, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of businesses/products offered by major financial institutions.
  • Desire to develop expertise in the investments universe and risk management.
  • Ability to identify problems and work with colleagues/management to develop solutions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
  • Previous experience in risk management or another control function.
  • Experience with automated solutions such as Alteryx, UiPath, and Tableau.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyse and evaluate information (fund prospectuses, factsheets, pension fund financial accounts, actuarial reports, legal docs, etc.) to review investment strategies, restrictions, structure, and other details.
  • Identify and escalate ‘red flags’ indicating alternative/hedge fund strategies to ensure appropriate management of trading limits and collateral.
  • Investigate and complete write-ups on new fund managers for approval as eligible counterparties.
  • Collaborate with Transitions/Sales to ensure clients have sufficient flexibility within the firm’s risk framework.
  • Raise negotiation requests for legal documentation that facilitates trading (e.g., ISDAs, GMRAs, OTC Clearing Addendums).
  • Perform annual reviews of existing funds to ensure credit limits and risk ratings are based on the latest available financial data.
  • Enhance existing operating procedures to improve internal controls and operational efficiencies, with an emphasis on intelligent solutions such as Alteryx, UiPath, and Tableau.
