Role Summary
Works on varying sizes of projects reporting into either a Senior PM or PM, usually leading small teams of employees or workers to complete tasks within their area of skill and expertise. Operates largely autonomously in their role but requires support on some aspects of the role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Preparation of Quotes: Provides information as requested by the Program Manager to support the quoting process.
- Planning: Creates accurate daily & weekly plans in line with project targets or deadlines, focused on staffing and materials management; ensuring that the required tools and equipment are available to complete the assigned tasks.
- Execution and Control of Activities: Project execution and control activities for assigned area of activity, including quality assurance, issue resolution, risk control & monitoring, compliance management, performance reporting to the PM and communications.
- Financial Management: Takes responsibility within their area of scope to effectively manage project costs to minimize expenses and maximize profitability; including travel, accommodation for NPSG team members, agency worker utilization and accuracy of time recording, purchase and hire of tools and equipment, management of PPE; in liaison with relevant HQ team members. Actively identifies additional revenue generation opportunities and refers them to the PM.
- Team Leadership and People Management: Leads a small team of technicians and temporary agency workers to complete specific tasks. This includes team motivation, on-the-job training & development coaching, creation of staffing schedules, managing requests for staff in liaison with P&T & temporary agencies.
- Communication: Communicates with NPSG managers and onsite Client & General Contractor/ third party suppliers as well as the NPSG HQ team as required to complete assigned activities and ensure compliance with NPSG internal processes.
- HSE Management: Responsible for the effective implementation of Health Safety & Environmental policies and processes in line with NPSG and General Contractor requirements for NPSG employees and other workers engaged by NPSG for the assigned activities. This includes Risk Assessments, Job Safety Analysis, Toolbox talks and effective Accident Reporting. Complete daily inspections of tools, plant and other equipment or tools to be used on the project. i.e., safety harnesses, helmets, etc.
- Reporting and Information Provision: Works with the Project Manager to report on daily activities and other information required by the client or NPSG HQ team.
Requirements:
Experience and Skills:
- Project Management Experience: No project management experience required.
- Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills: Has worked with diverse personalities and is able to communicate professionally with clients, suppliers, NPSG managers, employees, and temporary agency staff. Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Financial and Numerical Knowledge: May have no experience in managing budgets, forecasting and implementation of financial controls and cost management initiatives but is willing and able to learn as required.
- Other Technical Knowledge: Able to read and understand plans, specifications, and shop drawings. Able to work using metric and Imperial measurements. Red Badge Certification if working on AR projects.
- Knowledge of Materials and Tools: Good knowledge of materials, methods and tools involved in commercial buildouts. Good knowledge of assembly, power up and verification of automated warehouse systems. Experienced in using, maintaining, and completing safety inspections of hand tools required on site.
- Leadership and People Management Skills: Has led and motivated small-midsized teams of direct/ indirect workers in skilled and unskilled roles across a small-midsized or section of a large project. Provide timely follow up and attention to employee issues and complaints/concerns escalating those as appropriate to P&T.
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables to fixed deadlines.
- HSE Knowledge, Experience and Qualifications: Good knowledge of, and experience in the application of, health & safety requirements for construction and installation activities. Has completed all mandatory HSEQ training identified for this position.
- Software Skills: May not be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office: Excel, Word, Outlook & NPSG & client specific software, such as Curo and Truview/ CAD but willing and able to learn as required.
- Language Skills: Additional European languages (assuming advanced capability/ fluency in the language of country of employment) is highly desirable.
- Physical Attributes: Needs to be physically fit, able to walk long distances every day due to the scale of the warehouses that they will work in. Able to carry weights of up to 20kgs when completing tasks such as station builds.
