Description:
RESULTS AND ACTIVITIES - NON UNION
Operational Statistics Reporting (OSR) and Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR):
- Subject matter experts in Operational Statistical Reporting (OSR) and Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR).
- Reviewing of all operational police investigative files, searching for statistical data required to accurately classify and capture the information required to satisfy Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS) reporting requirements.
- Analyzing information, seeking clarification, identify deficiencies and requesting corrective action be taken.
Quality Assurance:
- Reviewing and auditing operational files to ensure compliance with legal obligations and policy requirement.
- Ensuring the integrity of the RCMP and Kelowna Regional Detachment by identifying issues that have the potential to become problematic and suggesting appropriate remedies.
Training and Development:
- Coaching RCMP cadets with respect to quality assurance issues.
- Assisting in identifying training requirements.
- Preparing and developing lesson plans, handouts, and PowerPoint presentations for identified needs.
Utilized as a Resource by:
- Support staff at Kelowna Regional Detachment.
- Regular Members to provide written and/or verbal guidance.
KNOWLEDGE - NON UNION
Must be knowledgeable in Operational Statistical Reporting (OSR), Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), Criminal Code of Canada, Federal and Provincial statutes, RCMP databases, the RCMP organizational chart, experience and/or background in law enforcement, RCMP administrative and operational policies and procedures.
SKILLS & ABILITIES - NON UNION
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills, well developed analytical and problem solving skills, excellent communication and inter-personal skills to deal with clients and stakeholders. Must have the ability to prepare and deliver effective presentations (PowerPoint) relating to training and information sessions. Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently while functioning as part of a team. Strong time management, organization/prioritization skills and above average computer skills. Must be able to obtain and maintain an RCMP security clearance.

PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION - NON UNION
The Crime Reviewer position provides a quality assurance audit of all police investigational files, along with identifying the accurate and detailed classification of file scoring as required by Canadian Centre for Justice Statistics (CCJS). The authority, mandated by the Officer in Charge of Kelowna Regional Detachment, is to provide guidance, feedback and corrective direction as required ensuring the file integrity of police investigations.
