Description:
The United Firm | La Liga Defensora, APC is seeking an experienced Criminal Defense Senior Legal Assistant to join our team in Austin. You and your team will work in collaboration to ensure that criminal matters within the department are moving along. An ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of current legislative, and regulatory guidelines, and experience in Criminal Defense as well as experience managing teams of paralegals.

QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 3 years of Criminal Defense experience
- Management experience is preferred but not required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) with high proficiency required
- Must hold a paralegal certification
- Experience with Case Management Software

Responsibilities:
- Maintain communication with clients and provide case updates promptly
- Manage attorney schedule efficiently
- Process criminal cases for trial preparation including legal documents, data entry, and correspondence.
- Manage a caseload as well as a team of paralegals
- Prepare subpoenas and cancel subpoenas when trials are completed, dismissed, or continued.
- Enter revocation petitions and prepare files for court.
- Request criminal history documentation
- Schedule appointments for defense attorneys to meet with deputy prosecutors, depositions, and pretrial conferences.
- Assist victims with restitution information, no contact orders, subpoenas, and court dates.
- Communicate with law enforcement individuals at the federal, state, and local level, the general public, and victims and witnesses in criminal cases.
